Slop Treatment

Soiltech is using our market leading Slop Treatment Technology (STT®) for treating SlopsThe STT is a mechanical technology which is used on location, treating water contaminated with oil and particles.

Utilizing the STT, Soiltech has treated 650 000 m3 (4,100,000 bbls)  of oily water/slop/sludge from drilling and P&A operations. On average, 95% of the total slop volume is treated on location at an average of 5 ppm. The treated oil and water is reused in the drilling process. The treated water may alternatively be discharged to sea or ground.

The STT is also used for Brine Recovery after the displacement of reservoir drill-in fluids to reduce well cost. Other uses of the STT include Cutting Mud Weight.

STT Purifier

Soiltech
offer technologies for treating Produced Water which is water produced as a biproduct during oil and natural gas development. Produced water contains soluble and non-soluble oil/organics, suspended solids, dissolved solids, and various chemicals used in the production process.

The STT Purifier is a technology developed by Soiltech which is used to reduce Total hardness, Chlorides and Total Dissolved Solids in the water. The STT Purifier is also suitable for applications aiming at reducing the content of Arsenic, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Mercury, Selenium and Silver in water.

Sorbfloc

The Sorbfloc flocculant enhances separation of oil and particles in water through a strong and irreversible reaction. It is used to clean produced water decreasing the oil in water content to below 1 ppm. Other effective uses are mining, municipal, potable and aquaculture waste water.

The patented product Sorbfloc is a green and biodegradable flocculant. Sorbfloc captures even the smallest particles of oil, fat, and solids, and can enhance separation processes in produced water, aquaculture, municipal wastewater, grey water etc. It’s biodegradability is unique in the world of flocculants as most flocculants today are synthetic based polymers and show no ability to biodegrade and will accumulate with time.

Aquaculture:

By combining our unique biodegradable flocculant Sorbfloc, with innovative hardware, we are able to put together and optimize small footprint, cost efficient systems that can deliver zero discharge solutions where needed. Our system can operate whether based on conventional flowthrough or intensive recirculation (RAS) technology.

Our systems remove the highest possible amount of sludge and fish excrements through drum filters/micro screens and finally polishing the water to zero discharge quality with the use of Sorbfloc. Our patented flocculant Sorbfloc is green and completely biodegradable in the recipient, and therefore the sludge that is removed from the water can be used as fertilizers with no residue of a synthetic polymer present.

  • Treat water to the strictest regulatory demands

Produced water:

The patented biodegradable and green chemical Sorbfloc® is used in the treatment of produced water. Can be integrated in to the existing production or by using Soiltech proven technology.

  • Does not stick to surfaces and accumulate in equipment.
  • Can easily substitute existing flocculant.
  • Does not depend on charge of the particles.
  • Cost competitive.
  • Reduced dosing requirements.

Cuttings – Skip & Ship handling

Soiltech’s skip and ship cutting system is designed to handle large amounts of cuttings in the most efficient manner. The ST-510 blower is a multi-purpose blower unit with gravity feed. This is a proven and versatile machine operated solely by air for transferring the drill cuttings into skips or tanks for further handling. The highly efficient unit can transfer cuttings over long distances.

Soiltech’s modular-based skip working station ST-CS is designed for multiple-choice setup, which means that there is no limitation to the number of skips. The frame can be used as a singular working station or in a combined setup. The frame is fitted with a two-level setup for the safety of the operator and personnel around the working area.

Benefits of Soiltech’s cutting handling system:

  1. Fully redundant blower capacity
  2. Blowers may be serial coupled for increased capacity
  3. High capacity enabling fast drilling
  4. Control panels are redundant and easily replaceable
  5. Small footprint
  6. Zone 2 rated

Cuttings Treatment

Soiltech has developed a patented technology for treating OBM and WBM cuttings. The Cuttings Treatment Technology (CTT®) is a non-thermal, mechanical technology. The CTT unit has a high treatment capacity and is introduced to the onshore market.

The treatment process has no ignition sources and has a lower energy consumption than existing thermal solutions. The cuttings are treated according to the requirements for oil on cuttings and may be reused in cement production or road fills. The treated water and oil is recovered for reuse in the treatment process or for building new mud.

Swarf Treatment

Soiltech’ s Swarf removal system (ST-SRS) is a field proven market leading technology. It is a new and upgraded Swarf unit to optimize the process and minimize exposure and personnel onboard (POB). The unit handles all mud and swarf from milling operations. The system runs with an automated magnetic cycle and pump rate. If required, it can be operated using manual input.

The ST-SRS is built to have contingency under the entire operation. The dual pump setup is connected to the level sensors in the tank. If the tank volume raises the pumps will adjust accordingly to keep the volume and flow at desired levels. The ST-SRS has an advanced monitoring system which can be tied into the rig’s volume control system, allowing the rig to monitor the flow from the unit.

Cleaning services

Soiltech delivers high quality tank and pit cleaning services that follow strict procedures regarding PPE to ensure safety, integrity and the environment. Our offshore personnel is trained not only for operating the treatment equipment, but also to be a sparring partner when it comes to handling the drilling waste. Our operators have extensive knowledge of the different types of waste in a pit or tank, making our operators ideal for supervising the cleaning and emptying of these tanks.

Combining the handling of this waste with our slop treatment units enables treatment and discharge of the volume generated during tank/pit cleaning, according to discharge regulations, thus reducing the need for backload to shore. Soiltech provide the latest versions of protective gear combined with the best available operating technologies.
